The Proposed Health Care Plan – Is It Really Welcomed?

There have been so many changes in our country in the last two years. We have a new president with new ideas and some really big changes. One such change is the new healthcare reform that has been passed and its first phases will begin next year. Everyone seems to have an opinion of the benefits of the new health care plan and its negatives. There isn’t one person who doesn’t have an opinion one way or another.

The major emphasis of the new healthcare plan is that all Americans will now have healthcare coverage. A big hurray goes up from those individuals who couldn’t quality for medical insurance coverage. Individuals who had no coverage due to pre existing medical conditions, students who were older than 21 but still in college and people who have already used up their lifetime maximum benefit. Those who already had medical insurance coverage are not so thrilled and aren’t receiving any new major benefits from the program.

All these advantages sound great until one considers the cost to implement such a plan. If these costs are hitting your pocketbook even harder than before you may reconsider whether this new plan is so wonderful. With the economy in its present condition not many people are thrilled that it will cost them even more for healthcare than it did before. The government is mandating all these improvements but billing its cost to the taxpayers. Many are wondering where the personal benefit to this plan is if you were one of the fortunate ones to have healthcare insurance before. The benefit seems to be to those who did not have healthcare and aren’t going to be able to afford it anyway, so their portion will get passed to others.

The overall intent of putting this healthcare program in place was to bring about positive changes but with budgets as tight as they are these new changes are not being welcomed. The government is trying to ensure all Americans have healthcare insurance and they have enforced a fine for any individual who does not comply. One way or another, Americans will be paying.

It is such a drastic measure for the government to take in order to enforce this new health care program. The introduction of the health care plan should have been embraced but instead people are resisting it because of the economic strain it will impose. With all the many talented individuals we have in this country one would think that this plan could have be developed with more attention being paid to the cost involved and the affects to the American people.
